let's go to the zoo!
Ginger and I lucked out with the weather yesterday as we strolled around the SF Zoo and talked to the animals. The giraffes are always my favorite, but the ant eater seemed frisky and we watched the keepers remove big penguin eggs, check them out and even say "hooray!" before putting each one back carefully. Dedicated animal lovers only work there. Lemurs seemed extra happy too!

flamingo resort
Ginger and I had a delightful time at our SF Zoo yesterday. It's strange to buy tickets online, but they have made a lot of improvements (flower gardens, outdoor seating) and of course we don't mind paying for the animals to get the best possible treatment. We were not alone ~ tons of other humans including lots of little ones. Easy parking too.

zootopia in the sun
Every animal was outside basking in the sunshine at the SF Zoo yesterday.
Ginger and I had a terrific day with lots of walking, coffee stops and when
the fog finally rolled in (as we knew it would) about 3pm I do believe that
we had chatted with every zoo dweller, even the Komodo dragon. Our zoo
has a whole bunch of giraffes, but my camera did not do them justice.
There was a little boy there who called the beautiful long legged coral
creatures in the top photo "Mingos" and we both loved that.

them well, it becomes too much of a task to find them when I'm in a bit
of a hurry this morning. The Blogmaid sent me this yesterday and I
at least located an old zoo photo so we can all do our "good grief, she is
growing so fast!" yelps of surprise and dismay. RR is 10 now and a
delight, enjoying her summer time off ~ reading and horses, beach
and friendships.

it's a zoo out there...
Thanks to the Blogmaid for organizing such a nice day with: Herself, Linda,
RR, Hannah, Gina and Jade. Here's our traditional photo with the Lemur
sign. I have fond memories of our times when RR was in a stroller and we
would walk and talk and wave at all the animals. But yesterday was special
in a different way and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely.

the sun's out and so were we
Fun day yesterday with our friend Ginger. First coffee and errands on
24th Street, then a visit to the Community Thrift Store on Valencia and
some BBQ'd hot dogs and lunch outside on our back deck. The two
women spent the afternoon at the zoo, talking and getting lost and
saying "oh, look!" every other minute. Usually it's cold and windy
there, but the people and animals were all loving the sunshine and
very gentle ocean breezes. And more sunshine today ~ hooray, even
if I have to work I can go outside for my lunch.

it's a zoo in this city
stuffed down its throat after marching up to the human with the bucket.
Then he/she would hop back into the water and swim away, diving and
rolling around ~ performing for the audience.
her dress, because she carefully planned her attire to match these very
pretty flamingos. We had a wonderful few hours at the zoo, despite a
rather ferocious wind and some lethargic lions, tigers and lemurs.
