Bouquets to Art

No, I didn't go to the deYoung for this annual event that is happening this
week. I grew to hate it when I worked there ~ especially the customers
who were too numerous and rude. But a couple of friends texted me
these glorious displays ~ delightful indeed. My friends visited the
galleries before their fellow art lovers were allowed in. Gratitude...

a day to relax

I did see one or two displays at the Bouquets to Art yesterday and I
liked this woman with the flowers in her tummy. Last night we watched
The Shipping News (streamed on the Flix®) thanks to the Great
Plotnik who also loved the movie and the book. Today - downtown
to the theater and some walkin' around town.

the bloom is off the rose

The first time I saw BTA at the deYoung I was enthralled ~ all those
beautiful floral creations that mirror the art. Yesterday I didn't even go
to see the exhibits, I just strapped myself to a cash register and went to
work. Every year more people come to see this and it's a huge money
maker for the museum. I go back there on Saturday and maybe, just
maybe, I'll take a look at an exhibit or two, but then again, maybe not.
Who is jaded?

BTA at the DY

As beautiful as most of the floral arrangements are at Bouquets to Art, I'm
happy to only be working there one day this week. The deYoung is PACKED
with people and I am lucky to spend the rest of the week out at the quiet Legion
of Honor. Still, it is quite an experience to see all these flowers, my favorites
are the "black" tulips in the photo above because they remind me of London.
