an excellent candidate

Racquel (Rockee) Armstrong (bottom photo) is running for the State House in Arizona. Nicole hosted a gathering for her yesterday and yes, I was sold. This primary is on July 21st and I so hope she does well. A Democrat, as you might have guessed.

lackluster election

Mediocre candidates for sure. I already voted by mail and what a relief to have the constant tv ads off the air for a month or two. I do not know one person who is enthusiastic about much of anything or anyone on the California ballot during this particular election. November will be different. Better.

this Friday, May 1st

I will participate in the Economic Blackout on Friday. I'm not sure that it will have any impact, but really, I must keep trying. So no shopping for me unless locally and with cash on Friday.

we undecideds

June2nd is the day of our California Primary Election and it seems that none of my friends are 100% behind any candidate. Of course we don't consider the two GOP guys, especially the one endorsed by the Dictator in DC. I do like Michael Tubbs for Lieutenant Governor. Step #1.

No Kings. No Dictators.

Cute sign thanks to Barb! We stood, we walked, we chanted. Terri, Suze, Heidi, Barb and I took BART to Market Street where we eventually met granddaughter Samantha and Luke. After marching for an hour or so we were ready for home. It's always good to see that we are NOT alone and there will me more protests because Trump is totally ruining this country. A demented and dangerous jerk.

no longer silent

Dolores Huerta (age 96) is finally able to talk about the ex-hero Cesar Chavez. This whole thing is sickening and now we scramble to change names (I'm guessing) on quite a few streets and buildings here in California where he led the Farmworkers Union back in the 70's. For shame, Cesar.

BIGGER than ever

The next NO KINGS protest march will be huge. And it should be huge after the outrage in Minneapolis. And L.A. And Chicago. And Venezuela. And Davos. And no, we do not want Greenland or Iceland. So time to plan and prepare and this is what democracy looks like. Again. Still.

ah, the irony

The orange demented monster is hell bent on protecting the people who protest in Iran. Meanwhile the protesters in his own country are considered commie antifa scum. Sorrow. Anger.

Ice Out!

Several friends were down here at Ocean Beach yesterday to protest the killing of Renee Nicole Good last week in Minneapolis. California has a new law keeping the poorly trained secret federal agents from wearing face masks so maybe that will help. What a week it has been. More protests, soon, or so I hope.

let the impeachments begin

This loathsome lying Kristi Noem gives women a bad name. She and her cutie pie outfits need to be out of work NOW. So embarrassing.

five years ago

Thugs. We were glued to our televisions that day. Jan. 6th. So much for law and order. And now here we are threatening the entire world order. God help us all...

she made us proud

I'll never forget how she publicly tore up tRump's State of the Union speech back when he was trying to destroy our country during his first term. Thank you, Nancy Pelosi. Good job!

disgusting

Well, isn't this just so symbolic of tRump's administration? This is NOT his home and to see these photos and videos hurts my heart. Plus he has really tacky taste in my opinion, sort of like the worst part of the 1950's Holiday Inns. Ick.

yes, a VERY good day

No Kings was a huge success all across the country and of course a BIG day in San Francisco. Our "team" in the second photo was always losing someone as we wandered away to take another picture or to talk with someone we spotted in the crowd. A wonderful feeling that we can do this, we can fight the fascists if we stay strong and positive.

today we gather and protest

Patriots ~ we exercise our Constitutional Rights today and our event starts at 1:30 down at the Embarcadero and we walk up Market Street to Civic Center. It is always a joyous feeling to know that there are so many of us showing up for Democracy.

a very good thing

Congratulations to Trump and Jared for pulling this off. The 20 Israeli hostages were released and finally the carnage in Gaza has stopped. What a long and difficult two years it has been.

making good trouble

It's a relief to have Saturday Night Live back in our lives and they did not disappoint with this bit making fun of Hegseth in front of the military brass. tRump will retaliate, of course, but let us hope that we can keep free speech in place as they try to smash our democracy.

mark all calendars everywhere

 Saturday, October 18
. We march, we chant, we protest. We do our best to save Democracy.

I still believe

I was recently sent this powerful quote from a young woman who said that this is one of the things that I taught her when we worked together. EVERYTHING WILL WORK OUT. Especially now with this Clown of a Dictator tRump, I have to remember this. There are more good people than bad. We stay strong. We continue to fight for our Democracy.

proud to be a Californian

You go, Guv. Politics is getting nasty but finally the Democrats are standing up to the Bully Dictator who wants to be King. No one really wants biased redistricting, except a few in Texas, but we have no choice and so the gloves are on and we fight back.
