we all loved Sabine
Sabine (on the right, top photo) passed away Tuesday night. I spent some time reviewing posts here since the Blogmaid family adopted her from the SF SPCA back in 2014. She had such a nice life down in Half Moon Bay and was so welcoming when Pito was adopted a few years ago. This is a sad time. RIP Sabine.

March, six years ago
Here is RR in a dress that her grandmother made for the Blogmaid. I had such a positive response to my blog time travel that I will now do this whenever I want to. Thanks, Redundant. And please do not miss the head of Sabine here, sweet little dog. Now I will jump back into 2021, with a curtsy.

a sweet Sunday
It was good to be with Mr. and Ms. Blogmaid yesterday down in Pumpkinville
and my appetite returned thanks to a sandwich from Jersey Joe's. You can see
how Sabine enjoys the view on our walk. And, oh my, those Stranger Kittens:
Hopper on the left and Eleven will turn out to be a nice orange-ish. It has
been a month since Husbando died and I still have the achey-breaky heart
and I just let myself cry in strange public places. But I am better. Trust me.

speaking of the kong
Here is Sabine, dog of the Blogmaid, with her Kong®. There might
even be peanut butter involved. So, now you know more about this
red rubber doggie toy/feeder than you ever wanted to know.
(A side note: today is Jon Carroll's final column in our Chronicle.
He has been in our lives for decades and we will miss him a lot.)

dogs keep evolving
Last night, after the (yawn) All Star Game, we watched Martin Clunes on
PBS. He loves his three dogs and did this special to discover more about how
humans learned to love them and how much we need dogs in our lives. One
segment was on some terriers who catch and kill rats (smalls) and to them
it's just a wonderful game. So the bottom photo here is of the very domesticated
Sabine (RR and the Blogmaid's doggie) who found this thing (vole) in her
field and brought it home to feast on it. Showing, obviously, that dogs can
still be wild creatures, doing what comes naturally to them. This is a GREAT
photo from the Blogmaid and I thank her sincerely...

meeting Sabine
She is adorable and the Blogmaid and I had a nice slow walk along
the ocean in Pathetica while Ms. Bean sniffed and peed. For a small
(mostly Chihuahua) girl dog she doesn't yap and loves to meet other
dogs, even though they are afraid of her. Yes, she is a winner and
I fell in forever love, as you can probably tell.
