Spring in the City

 Here are a couple of small examples of the explosion of flowers this year thanks to all that tedious winter rain and to the gardeners who live and work here. And now sunshine and clean air to celebrate the first day of Spring yesterday. Counting flowers and my blessings...

 It's in our DNA. The top photo is Sister Jane's dining room table, then mine and then my kitchen with little orange lights. We can't help ourselves. 

yes, it feels like Spring

 Hooray, sunshine and NO rain. I was able to get in a couple of walks and then weed in my overgrown garden yesterday. Annabelle was able to guard the house in her sunny front courtyard and we are both looking forward to enduring the final rainstorm next week. Sweet.

this unusual real winter

 More rain today. There is a promise of Spring but not today. I will pick up my friend Ginger and head some place, but no party today. I still miss Robin Williams, by the way.

 Even though we have the prettiest winters possible here, we always welcome Spring. I bring out the Rilke quote every year and today we also have Gini's kitchen to admire.

yup, it's in the air

I bought a few too many gourds and pumpkins this year, but what the hell,
how often is it really, truly Autumn? Sunshine every day, cool nights and
just a hint of fog in the early morning. A great time of year for long walks
and restorative naps. Soon the rain and the fireplace...

the true sign of Spring

We had so much sun and bloom during the so-called Winter months,
that this is my first official sighting of the new season. Best price? Big
Lot's on Mission ~ $1.00 a package. Guaranteed to last 1/2 day. Maybe.
