mornings at seven

These photos do not really work, but when the sun rises I am sitting in front of the fireplace with my laptop and cat. I glance up (top) and see a bright orange in the window of my neighbor's across the street. Then I rush to the back of the house to catch this amazing and almost blinding sun on one or more of the downtown buildings. I miss Husbando as one or the other of us would call out, "Quick, come look!"and in fact (shhhhhh) I often still do that.

sun for flowers and felines

This might be the earliest Spring ever here.  Annabelle spends most of the day in her courtyard and the tulips and daffys were over at Doug and Barb's where I had coffee yesterday afternoon. Soon I will be out in my garden weeding ~ well, at least that is on my To Do List.

writers at work

Our second Tiapos in the warmth of the sun! Yesterday we met at Sarah's
home in Napa and spent most of the day outside. I know you think we
are mostly discussing: plots, arcs, paragraphs, sentences, verbs, italics,
poetry, fiction, non-fiction, transitions, tension, phrasing and delete/
delete/delete, but in fact we do take a moment or two for food, family,
friends, life, death and everything in between. Chef P roasted chickens for
us and there were plenty of side dishes to accompany the luscious
brined birds. A truly glorious day ~ how lucky am I?

finally, summer is over

Now that it's officially Autumn, we are going to have some real
sunshine. They say FIVE days of a long-awaited heat wave. I
need to find my 4 summer outfits and iron them post haste.
I see lunch out by the fountains in Golden Gate Park and a
prayer that we don't have those short-shorts inside the museum.
Not to sound old and staid, no not me.

sunshine!

Isn't this how we all feel after a glorious day like yesterday? Even
in Pumpkinville, as evidenced by this happy RR seaside dance. I
had to work, but at least I could go outside on my breaks and lunch.
Today is beginning beautifully too...but alas, it's Inventory Day.

summer 2010 starts today

And what better way to celebrate than with colorful photos of
our 6.5 year old girl? RR is a delight through sunshine and the
occasional bit of fog, aka Bay Area marine layer. Pony camp
starts today ~ more photos to come!

is this the reason?

By now you know that I am a sun worshiper and I think maybe it's
because of my youth spent on the SoCal beaches every summer. This
is not my photo, but it makes me happy. We have sunshine this
morning here in SF, it has been approximately 10 long grey days
since that occurred. Yeah, sunshine, stay awhile!

My yesterday off was spent at yoga, lunch with my friend Gini and
I watched Frost/Nixon from start to finish. One great movie. I work
today and am off tomorrow again and life is good. Very good, in fact.
