Sunset Dunes
We have a new park in this city of parks. Controversial, but everything here is always a battle and people who live down here do not like giving up their Great Highway and the car is still king. But hey, we have another park and it is really glorious despite the fog. There were a ton of people walking, biking, skating and just enjoying nature yesterday and I had a good walk too. So much space and all flat, clean bathrooms too and this park will just get better and better. Sunset Dunes was created for coastal conservation and sand dune restoration. I vote "yes" and I enjoyed my invigorating walk yesterday. San Francisco has 220 parks, every resident lives within a ten minute walk to a park. Amazing, really.

Susan in Salesforce Park
Susan lives in Davis and she had not even heard of Salesforce Park in downtown SF, and I had not been here for awhile either, so of course we had a lovely time. I wish it had a few good restaurants, but we got by with pizza and salad and that was fine. All the plants and trees and greenery ~ so lush and beautiful and juxtaposed with (to?) all the dramatically tall buildings, lordy, it is just a really spectacular spot. Yes, one fine day filled with chit chat and cleansing laughter.

SF is alive and well
Beverly and I walked over to Yerba Buena Gardens on Thursday before SF Moma opened at noon and man, that place was jumpin'. Some tech convention event with music, food and happy people wearing badges and enjoying the sunshine. There is something so special about a downtown park and this one seems to improve each year. The indoor food court there was busy/happy and we feasted on salads from the Buckhorn Grill, one of my favorite spots.

Sutro Park
Ginger and I had our walk and coffee way down here at Sutro Park yesterday. Beautiful. This is off the beaten path for both of us and we had a nice time exploring and enjoying the sun.

hot coffee, cold park
Yesterday Ginger and I had our walk and talk up in beautiful Lafayette Park near her home. It wss busy with folks doing tai chi, exercising their dogs and then there is a busy playground filled with kids and parents. We enjoyed listening to two amateurs (ahem) in a grove practicing opera. SF, never dull.
