many lattes, many memories
The Blogmaid and I were always able to grab our favorite table at the Chit Chat Cafe in Pacifica. We covered a few joys and sorrows here and this week it is being demolished due to a big concrete collapse at the end of the pier. And that has always been a busy pier filled with people fishing. When will it re-open? Will they rebuild the Chit Chat? Yes, it was an old fashioned funky cafe and I feel even worse for the regulars who would gather here every day. There are so many goodbyes in this life. Too many.

bagels and art and bleak weather
Yup, May Gray is here and June Gloom will follow. That's OK, we bundle up. Yesterday the Blogmaid and I met for lattes at the Chit Chat Cafe on the pier in Pathetica. I needed a touch of therapy with my bagel. Then on to the Open Studios at the Sanchez Art Center in Linda Mar where I had never been and I thank my friend for taking me to/fro. A good Saturday indeed.

Potstickers in Pathetica
The Blogmaid introduced us to Tam's many years ago and I like this restaurant because it is spacious and welcoming and the food is good. I took Ken the Car down to Pacifica yesterday to hit the bank, the post office, Walgreen's and Safeway. Easy parking with fresh ocean air about a block away. My reward for running all these tedious errands was pot stickers and won ton soup and good people watching at Tam's.

meeting at the Chit Chat Cafe
Thanks to the Blogmaid for the photos and for meeting me for coffee/bagel yesterday in Pathetica. I do love the fisher woman top shot ~ we sometimes forget that our pier down there is used daily for basic human food needs, not just because it is adds so much to the visual beauty of the often stormy ocean.

scallops by the sea
I was yearning for very expensive scallops yesterday, so Mr. and Ms. Blogmaid treated Neti and me to a lavish lunch at Nick's down in Pathetica. Such a wonderful old fashioned restaurant. We had lots of laughs and I tasted my first fried pickle, so you know the day was a success. And may I mention the warm brownie with ice cream? Of course I must. With many, many thanks ~ a delightful Sunday for sure.

summer has arrived
It was just SO beautiful in Pathetica yesterday ~ no fog, no wind. Lots of people and dogs, of course, and the Blogmaid and I enjoyed our walk, lattes and good catch-up conversation at the Chit Chat Cafe.

when it rains we slow down
Yesterday Lana (my new friend from the Mayor Breed unsuccessful campaign) and I were going to walk but instead she introduced me to a rather glorious bakery and coffee shop in (of all places) Pathetica. I was able to show her Tam's which the Blogmaid introduced me to many moons ago. We are both recovering from that damn election and were able to talk of other things. We are having some REAL rain here now but it will stop for my sister's visit next week. It will. In the meantime, Rosalinda's is a delightful discovery. Yay! The ocean yesterday was incredible...

friendship in the fog
The Blogmaid and I enjoyed a brisk walk along the ocean in Pathetica yesterday. We talked of many, many things, apu. Our reward was coffee and a bagel in the Chit Chat Cafe on the pier. Not too many other hearty souls out yesterday, mostly dog owners. A lovely Friday. xoxo

we be soothed
I needed a good long solo walk by the sea yesterday, so I headed to Pathetica and the clean air and roar of the waves did the trick again. Outstanding weather and lots of people and dogs to appreciate as I put that awful Debate in a tiny compartment in the very back of my mind.

Chit Chat and AirPods
Yesterday was lovely in Pathetica where the Blogmaid and I celebrated her belated birthday and my Christmas. She gifted me with this lovely Apple product and I am learning how to use the AirPods and of course going through all the What? Huh? nonsense that is part of my learning process. After lunch at Chit Chat Two we went Safeway shopping like Real Housewives and it was a very, very nice day. Thank you, Blogmaid...and Apple.

ocean spray
The sea was roiling yesterday in Pathetica when Any and I had our walk and lunch at the Chit Chat Cafe. Sorry the window screen is here, but this was our view for the $6.00 hot dogs. A-OK.

a walk in Pathetica
The Blogmaid and I had a brisk walk and good talk at the Chit Chat Cafe once again. Then she sent me this photo of her marigolds and the turkey vulture that RR loved when she was young. His head falls off, proving that friendship lasts longer than your average vulture. Good thing that. And for the record, gorgeous weather here.

Chit Chat time
The Blogmaid and I met for lattes (she gets the green tea one pictured) yesterday down in Pathetica where the fog hovered and we talked about walking and well, you know, that just didn't happen. Next time...

a little break for Widow Stein
I really wanted some won ton noodle soup yesterday because the clean-up, clean-out has been getting to me. So many memories. Working on music currently. Anyway, Husbando and I used to bring each other this healing soup when one or the other of us had a cold, or worse. I headed for Tam's in Pathetica, but they were closed for vacation so I hit the Hot Pot and settled for chicken chow mien and it was just fine. I like the easy Post Office in Pacifica and the Safeway there is also a nice change from mine. It's the little things that matter currently. Always?

wait, is that sunshine?
Yesterday I introduced Terri to Pathetica and we lucked out with the weather. The ocean was at it's best two-tone roiling self and we walked and talked and then had coffee at the Chit Chat. There are still some delightful wildflowers along the walking route and always that much needed ocean air to soothe the lungs.

intense marine layer
Yesterday in Pathetica ~ the sun was starting to peek through when we left in the early afternoon after lattes and (for me) a bagel at the Chit Chat. So nice being with the Blogmaid again and, as usual, we had much to talk about. Do NOT ask us about our walk because it was just waaaaay too foggy for that ambitious activity. Photos thanks to aforementioned Blogmaid.

sea foam and flowers
I so needed a walk by the ocean yesterday and had a lovely, long stroll down in Pathetica. It was quiet and easy to park and I was the only customer in the Chit Chat Cafe. The Dubs pounced on the Lakers last night so all in all, a very good Thursday.

feed a cold
I took myself to Tam's in Pathetica for won ton noodle soup yesterday. This messy bronchial thing hangs on and I have been house bound and hungry. I need to be 100% for one week from today. Onward!

front row seats
Ginger and I had our coffee here yesterday ~ the light on the ocean in Pacifica (aka Pathetica) this time of year is beyond beautiful. Dogs, surfers, walkers and old friends just sitting and staring. So lovely.

fog-free Fog Fest
Who knew? Well, about 3,000 people other than the Blogmaid and this Blogger. We were to meet in Pathetica for coffee at ye olde Chit Chat Cafe but traffic, parking, blue skies and all the festival goers sent us to the strip mall for our lattes and catch-up time. We went to the lesser Chit Chat Cafe there, but we did have a fine time once we found a quiet table. So it turned into an excellent catch-up Saturday and maybe we learned a lesson. Maybe not.
