Sausalito on Sunday
Yesterday Heidi and I visited our old friends and neighbors, Julia and Michael, who now live across the Golden Gate Bridge in the hills above Sausalito. Tea and brownies and a lot of catch-up chatter. You can probably tell from the photos that they are doing a-ok and yes, we miss them a lot.

Sisters in Sausalito
My next door neighbor Cristina (top photo) works on the SF-Sausalito ferry so we had freebie tickets (and sunshine!) yesterday for our busy, happy travels. We had pizza for lunch at Taste of Rome, then some walking and talking and after a visit to Pier 39 (tourists, yay!) we walked down to the Ferry Building to Hog Island Oysters and you can see Sister Jane enjoying our early dinner. Oh, I loved those oysters too, never fear. What a full, fun day. And week. And life.

where are the tourists?
No madras plaid shorts, no huge tour buses, no traffic and plenty of
parking. Even one clean public bathroom. Yesterday Ginger and I
drove to Sausalito to walk all over and have a latte as we watched
boat ownders scrubbing down their prized possesions. Quiet, peaceful
and unreal. The fog burned off quickly, as you knew it would.
