friends, magnolias and some rain

I met Bette for lunch at Pacific Catch yesterday for another lunch of steak tacos and lots of catch-up talk because she still works full time at the museums. Then I took a lovely solo walk in the Botanical Gardens where I used to take my lunch often when I worked at the deYoung. The Magnolias are almost gone this year but it is always such a pleasure just to BE there and to get some deep breaths and appreciation. We are getting some more rain but not gulley washers this go-round.

looks like Spring to me

Early and dramatic due to all the rain. Ginger One and I went to the Botanical Gardens yesterday and enjoyed the magnolias, bright fresh green grass and the daffodils. Splendid, all in all.

piano power

There were twelve covered pianos scattered around the Botanical Gardens and yesterday was people-packed as it was the last day for Pianos in the Park. Lots and lots of children and retired people and we enjoyed the noon concert in the main meadow. Ginger and I got some good walking in and then a nice sunny sit-down with coffee. Lovely indeed.

magnolia mania

Yesterday Ginger and I had our walk (and coffee) out at the Botanical Gardens and wow, what a day. It is just like summer here ~ warm and clear. (Not an SF summer, of course.) Attendance at all the wonders of Golden Gate Park has increased dramatically since the pandemic.

to the big Botanical Garden

The rhododendrons are starting to fall now, but it was still an excellent and beautfiul walk on Wednesday, when I met Terri for some catch-up out at Golden Gate Park in the Botanical Garden. This is such an amazing place and FREE for SF residents. I will return, and soon.

Botanical Garden

I've been meeting friends everyday this past week. Always outside,
always with masks. My friend Marsha calls people who don't wear
them "MaskHoles" and we will see them in Tulsa tomorrow. Yesterday
after lunch with The Great Plotniks, right next to their glorious garden, I
met Gini at the Botanical Garden for another walk and talk. Lots of
outdoor beauty and so fortunate to have this beautiful real summer weather.

back to the Botanical Garden

Well, you can see that Neti, Pat and I had a delightful lunch meeting
yesterday. Nothing soothes like nature. We walked and talked and
noshed ~ six or so feet away from each other.

SF Botanical Gardens

The gardens reopened on Monday and it appears that the plant-loving staff
spent those long eleven weeks taking care of their beloved greens. Ginger
and I had coffee, muffin and a good walk here yesterday morning. It was
cool and breezy, but we found a secluded bench where we could watch
hundreds of kids run their legs off ~ relieved looking parents watching,
of course. Bathrooms open too, hooray.
