Game 7 and Buddy WHO?

I had not met one Warrior fan who was eager to watch the playoff game in Texas (!) last night. My go-to Warrior #1 fan Terri received my text "Who is Buddy Hield?" during the game and she always provides a lovely side story when she answers my dumb questions. I love the excitement of a big playoff game but we did not expect the Dubs to win. So last night capped a wonderful Tiapos/Fluff afternoon at Doug and Barb's and I will provide photos and details of that tomorrow. A Sunday to remember, for sure.

the playoffs ~ full steam ahead

Well, the Dubs are 3-1 in this seven game series with the Rockets. Very exciting games and lots of drama so I haven't been watching other TV. Except the news, of course, and congrats to Canada for electing the anti-Trump candidate. Hooray. My jet lag garners no sympathy but I am improving and trying NOT to nap during the day. Oh, the Giants are also playing very, very well. Many welcome home gifts!

cool down by the Bay

The Blogmaid and family were kind (as always) yesterday and we went to the Ramp for lunch and then enjoyed a good walk around the Chase Center with the happy tourist middle photo here. And this morning the fog has returned. Whoosh.

it begins tonight!

Warriors vs. Kings up in Sacramento at 5:30pm. Lots of fun back stories and excitement in this rare meeting of neighbors in the NBA playoffs. Our record is not that exceptional this year, but the Warriors know how to "do" playoff pressure. Or so we hope...

a perfect day in SF

Thanks to the Blogmaid who got us all to and on the SF Love Tour Hippie Bus yesterday morning down at the Argonaut Hotel in Fisherman's Wharf. Doug and Barb took the back seats we all had a splendid two hour drive with people giving us the peace sign every two minutes as Cyrus, our guide, maneuvered all the hills and curves. He is a native and I did not have to correct him once. Today is rain, but the weather yesterday was magnificent. Lunch at the In/Out Burger at the Wharf and then my first ever basketball game at Chase Center last night. The Warriors won. A fabulous day.

the BIG parade

Huge success yesterday ~ millions of fans lined Market Street. I watched on TV and cheered them on. Our writing prompts this week are Steph's tattoos:

  • Love Never Fails (in Hebrew, right wrist)
  • TCC Trust Commitment and Care (left wrist)
  • > < (He must become greater, I must become less, on left bicep)
  • WOE (working on excellence, right bicep)

and soon...a PARADE

Well, that was fun last night. The fireworks in SF lasted until sunrise, or so it seemed. The Warriors were bound and determined to win in Boston last night and so they did, with a little drama and lots of joy.

nerves of noodle

The Dubs won last night and now back to Boston to see if they can sew it up there. If not, back to SF for (yikes) a Game 7. And our Giants swept the blue scum sucking Dodgers over the weekend and then beat Kansas City last night. The stars are aligned, or something like that. Win, win, win.

zounds! back to Zut...

Every year Joe and I travel to Berkeley to celebrate Pamela's birthday at Zut's on 4th Avenue. Wowza, that area has really returned to life and we had an excellent brunch and a good time. Then we raced back home to watch the Warriors win by ONE POINT in yesterday's playoff game against Memphis. Yikes.

here we go again

This basketball team is just so damn much fun and the playoffs are always intense and very exciting.

basketball is back

I enjoyed the ring ceremony last night and then bounced back and forth
between the Brewers-Dodgers game and the Warriors. No national news
or sleepy politics so it was one fine TV night. The Dodgers won in 13
innings, but I couldn't stay up for that. The Great Plotnik was pleased...

warriors win it all (again)

Last night's game was not very exciting, but the end result was extremely
satisfying as the Dubs get ready for their parade next week. Congratulations
to these fun basketball players and their coaches, fans, etc.

now this is exciting

The Warriors and the Rockets are heading to Game 7 tomorrow night.
Last night I was sure they would lose after the first awful ten minutes
or so. But then, but then ~ wow, what a game. Impossibly fun for
Dub fans everywhere. (To think that three or so years ago I didn't even
know what a Dub was. Duh.)

Tuesday, June 13, 2017

congrats to the Dubs!

We are still learning basketball, but thought it was a tense and exiting
game last night. There were fireworks in the city and in Oakland too,
I'm sure. The Cleveland team went home ~ back where they belong.
Next is the parade and tomorrow I go to a Giants game. Time to win
a few here, but it's been a rough season so far for our team. Maybe
the Warriors will inspire Bochy and crew?

the big slanted splurge

Yesterday Joe and I treated Pamela to her b.day lunch at the Slanted Door.
It was a warm and crowded day down on the Embarcadero, but we had a
lovely time out on the patio eating waaaaaaaay too much expensive food
and laughing about our lives and getting ready for the exciting basketball
game when we eventually returned to our homes last night. Oh, sorry,
we lost that grand finale game and it didn't feel good in any way, shape
or form. But now we can concentrate on basketball and hoooooray for that.

it didn't work

Here is Chef Stein at the SPCA. She was told that IF she wore the blue hat,
the Warriors would win last night. She did, they didn't.

turning into fans

The much improved Husbando and I watched the Warriors vs. Spurs
game last night and drat, we lost. We are brand new fair weather
Warrior enthusiasts, and although I don't feel the same sorrow as I
do when the Giants lose, it was an unpleasant and unusual ending.
The playoffs this year will be terrific however, between these two teams.
