walking solves everything

Also Motion is Lotion. I like solo walks and also love going out with Jen and the Two pictured here. Charli is wearing (and hating) the blue donut thing after surgery and Birdie is free to do her thing. We are having a break before the next rain storm so the air is clear and the skies a bright, bright blue. And today I wish Sister Jane a Happy Birthday ~ how lucky we are to have her in our lives!

dog sitting Birdie

Jen with two dogs is taking one dog (Charli) to the vet up in Sonoma and I am with Birdie this morning. You can see how adorable she is. Miniature Schnauzers are love bugs but high maintenance. The Bird had her breakfast and is now preparing for her morning nap. Nice weather, as you can see.

animal world

I did some dog sitting for Jen and Stacie's two rascals (Charli and Birdie) yesterday afternoon and that worked out well as a delicious tuna sandwich was included in the deal. Then last night Lynn next door (who is visiting from Puerto Rico) brought me yummy miso soup. Annabelle adores Lynn and managed to knock her coat to the floor and snuggle there which is unusual behavior for my cat, but sweet for sure.

Jen with two dogs

it's been forever since I walked with Jen and Charli and Birdie. The human had Covid and then was out-of-town for a couple of months and so yesterday we reunited for lots of good catch-up chatter. The dogs barked hysterically when I came into view and that made me smile big time.

it was a dog

The Super Bowl was boring except for the ads and half time. I did want to share some sweet dogs today, however. Here we have the Blogmaid Puppies in their winter plaid coats. Sabine is the oldest with the dark fur and Pito is her boyfriend, the white guy. Both are rescues living the good life in Pumpkinville with their three feline buddies. LUV.

Samantha, Luke and Harlow

Lovely dinner here last night with the grands who live in Burlingame. We had takeout from Regent Thai and it was very nice to catch-up with these two while the Doodle roamed the house and Annabelle hid inside Ken, the Toyota in the garage. Today will be a rainy day so the cuddle cat and I will do a few house tasks and watch a movie and practice gratitude. We do.

and another Doodle

Heather and Lilly invited Heidi and me for tea yesterday afternoon and we got to meet Holly, the Doodle. So sweet. These neighbors live in another world a block away and we talked of many things and enjoyed ourselves immensely.

a long two dog day

Jen's partner had a bad cold so I was the helper yesterday and we left for Santa Rosa at 6:30am with the two dogs. I sat in the back with Charlie (middle photo) and Birdie (top) who was in the passenger seat. Wise & Wonderful is a holistic vet and both dogs had procedures done there and we waited and worried. I forgot to take a photo of the building so you are treated to one of the Wise & Wonderful car. We had a late lunch at In-N-Out and a smooth ride home after a full day of dogs and, of course, worry. But all is well today. Hooray!

dog days

Jen brought Charlie and Birdie over because it was cool in my backyard yesterday afternoon. We are having our usual four days of October hot weather currently and the Blue Angels are doing the war toy thing which you know by now that I hate. And I really, really hate Jim Jordan, not to get political or anything.

golden doodles galore

Everyone loves this breed and now grand daughter, Samantha, and her partner, Luke, just brought Harlow into their lives. Sam grew up fearing dogs (long story) and then her parents brought home Honey Stein, a golden doodle, and life often changes in a good and positive way.

my grand dog, Honey Stein

Honey lives in Buffalo, NY with Rob, my youngest stepson and his family. They are having a very cold winter and Honey has a new coat from LL Bean. Sarah is very proud of the dog and coat but in a separate text Rob says that Honey hates the coat, especially the hood and so they are heading to Florida. Brrrrr.

new family member!

The Blogmaid and family adopted Pito yesterday from the SPCA. He has already become best friends with Sabine, the sweet girl dog being held here by RR. Today he will probably get to know the three cats and already he loves the fresh sea air and the family walk at sunset. This boy will have a GREAT life.

Cookie

This adorable little creature "works" in my dentist's office where I visit waaaaay too often. My friend Barb suggested that perhaps I could just go in, pet Cookie, and get the hell out of there. If only...

Honey Stein

My step son Rob, grand daughter Lindsay and grand dog Honey were watching the Masters yesterday in their home in Buffalo, New York. Honey is one of three Labradoodles that I know now and I hear that they are wonderful dogs.

BART to San Leandro (and back)

Guapito was waiting for me to admire him yesterday and so I did. Who wouldn't? I had not seen Meriel for over a year and then we met her friend Howard for lunch at Sparky's. Howard's wife Barbara died seven months ago so we had a mini-memorial with photos and tears (mine). I wish he could benefit from grief group the way I did, but he will get through this pain as we all do. We all grieve differently and I was one of the messy ones. But that's okay.

who let the dogs in?

Yesterday Ginger and I went to play at the brand new dog run in Golden Gate Park. Posh. As it should be. We parked easily at 36th and Fulton and did some serious dog watching before heading south to North Lake and walking there. That is a wild overgrown lake, completely different than pristine Stowe Lake. A delight ~ filled with wild flowers and little animals. Then coffee and home grown coffee cake sitting in the sun (you can barely see the lake, but it is there) at the one picnic table. Excellence.

new puppy for old college friend

Of course you remember Ginger in Santa Barbara. She called yesterday and even though I have zero phone skills, we (she) chatted away for about 45 minutes. It is a good time for her to train this brand new guy named Skylar since she can't travel to faraway places these days. Her other dog, Shally, is adjusting slowly to all this boundless energy.

Awwwwwwww

This documentary on Netflix is a loving story of the Guide Dogs for
the Blind over in Marin. We follow five puppies during their training
in Pick of the Litter. Spoiler alert: not every dog makes it, but every
dog is a total delight and finds a forever home quickly.

best in show

Marsha and I went to the Cow Palace yesterday for the dog show. So
much like the wonderful movie! Tomorrow I will feature Annabelle
and that's a promise.

shopping in the hood

It's always a three dog day when I visit Just For Fun on 24th Street.
On rare occasions they are back in the office, but we know they
belong out on the floor where the customers can walk around them
and tell them how beautiful they are. They are.
