topaz, crone, droop

I have learned to do Wordle in the morning when my mind is somewhat fresh. I like to select a five-letter word from the morning newspaper to start, but that isn't always successful. When I first started playing I took it very seriously, but now it is just fun and once I guessed the correct word on the first try. Clean ~ I won't forget that. Thanks to the Blogmaid for showing me how to set this up because a little word play helps the brain, or so I hope.

the puzzle organization

I invested a few $$$$ in these jigsaw puzzle boxes and also a felt cloth for wrapping up the unfinished almost masterpiece. I sorted most of the pieces based on color and I'm sure I will decide to re-do some of these when the rains come and I get back to "work". For now, nice to have the dining room back.

we dawdled with this one

I don't know why Annabelle and I didn't really love this jigsaw, maybe because I got the frame all wrong from day one. But we have a very cool one awaiting us from the U.S. Postal Service. GREETINGS from all 50 states in postage stamp form. More will be revealed...

a favorite puzzle for obvious reasons

Annabelle and I enjoyed this jigsaw. She likes to hide one important piece from me until the end when I discover it on the floor behind a chair or table leg.

with Impeachment #2 in background

I started my Wednesday with Victor and his 100 plus exercise students and then to house tasks and the truly riveting hearings. How can ANYONE still support tRump? I finished this puzzle of Peru without Annabelle's help, but she wanted to take credit and so she shall.

breakfast, lunch, dinner

Annabelle and I spent a LOT of time on this colorful jigsaw puzzle ~ we were sugar-crazed at the end. I'm ready for a change of scene ~ after I vacuum the "work area" today because it is filled with cereal crumbs.

puzzles past

I have failed to keep my faithful readers updated on jigsaw hi jinx here on Mullen Avenue. You can see that I have accomplished a lot. Currently I have one with many, many cereal boxes and of course you will see the finished product at some point along the way. So soothing to have this activity always waiting for me on the dining room table when I am mostly stuck at home.

Nancy and the cereal boxes

Yesterday I started a new puzzle and began listening to a great audio book entitled Pelosi by Molly Ball. The latter is a loan from Libby at the Library and I highly recommend it. It is our October book club pick from Gini and I must say it is fabulous. Ms. Pelosi is a force to be reckoned with and she just makes me so proud to say that she is from SF and this crazy city taught her a lot about politics.

Dirty John and filthy air

I stayed in all day to avoid the horrible air yesterday. These awful
fires rage on. I'm so glad to live in the safe city where concrete
doesn't burn. So I worked on the jigsaw and watched Dirty John,
a series on Netflix. And yes, I recommend this based-on-truth
drama about a con man in Southern California.

Paris is a puzzle

Dear Dancing Jen sent me this jigsaw and we are excited to get started
today. As you well remember, Jen and I "did" Paris six years ago.
Thank you are the puzzle and the memories. Travel while you can
makes even more sense these days, no?

puzzle pride ~ 1000 pieces worth

We finished this (number 8?) yesterday. Do NOT ask what else we did.
So satisfying. Doug suggested a series of jigsaws of cats sitting on pretty
puzzles. We can get behind that, and on top too.

puzzle and podcast

1000 pieces await

dinner with a view

an excellent podcast

Nancy and CC came by for breakfast and then headed out, back to Placerville
where the grand daughter farms. Annabelle and I started a new jigsaw and
listened to this interesting podcast which makes me want to watch The
Office series again. I wasn't a thorough follower before, but I did enjoy it.
Then of course the beauty of the spectacular SF sunset.

some find them puzzling

Annabelle says, "I was here first."

my life indoors

Yesterday I finished jigsaw #6 ~ it was easier than some, or maybe/maybe
I am getting better? I have the next puzzle on the dining room table, still
in the box. An essential activity for me on the "corona coaster".

#5 (I think) ~ finished

This was a good one and Annabelle did not eat one piece. And I listened
to an audio book while I "worked" yesterday, so a double accomplishment.
Sort of. Today I need to get stuff done, including a long walk in this
beautiful weather. Onward.

puzzle pride

I finished #4 on Saturday. Beautiful London. Go ahead, applaud. And
thanks for all the jigsaw loans, Blogmaid.

one beautiful puzzle

What a pleasure it was to work this William H. Johnson painting of Harriet
Tubman. I almost hated to finish it. I try to take a few days off between
jigsaws but then my fingers start to get itchy...

jigsaw #2

Thanks to the Blogmaid for this loan. For a few days I was sure that an
eye was missing, but those of you who are puzzlers understand how
everything can come together at the very last moment. If only this were
true of our everyday lives. Sigh.

books and staircases and me

To save my eyesight and my back, I tried to limit myself to five or six
pieces a day. Annabelle chomped on a few pieces and toward the end I
was sure she had swallowed some. I love jigsaw puzzles, but I wanted
this one to last for awhile, and it did. It was only 500 pieces, but it
seemed like many more when I started. Today I will take it down, after
I run my hands over it a bit more. I get another one from the Blogmaid
on Monday, so I will vacuum (what?) the living and dining rooms over
the weekend. Why? You might ask...

the day is set

Here is the jigsaw puzzle we will do on Christmas Day. The fireplace
is key to this gathering and I am determined to keep it casual: snacks
and TV and laughter. I have no idea how many people will show up,
but it will be a good day. It will,  damn it. (Puzzle is only 500 pieces.)
