fun! exciting!
Playoff basketball is always delightful and of course this year I am rooting for the Knicks who won last night (Game 2) by ONE point. We can only imagine the NY celebration should they take the championship this year because it has been so very long, like 27 years?

women warriors
One of our goals on Friday was to check out the Warrior gift shop at Chase Center and to purchase and support our new women's professional basketball team before they become a reality next year. Great color and design for the Golden State Valkyries ~ this a huge gift shop with mostly Golden State Warrior merchandise, but we persisted, as women do.

hmmmmm, and so it begins
Ooooops, so much excitement here in SF with the NBA playoffs beginning last night. The first quarter was great fun. The last quarter was a disaster. Back to the drawing board, Dubs.

three mile walk
I needed a change of scene after so much kitchen concentration these
past few days so off I went to Lake Merced. I hadn't been out here since
Bill died and it used to be one of our favorite places so I always allow
some time for memories and Kleenex® when I return to our spots. This
was a fine idea and I reflected on how fortunate we were to have so
much time together in this city that we both loved so much. And HOW
ABOUT that basketball game last night? Annabelle is not used to me
talking to the TV in a somewhat loud manner ~ we won, as you know.
Get used to it, dear kitty.

you call this fun?
The SF Giants currently have the worst record of any baseball team. It
is so discouraging. The blue scum-sucking Dodgers arrive in town and
their goal is to humiliate us further. Argh. Thank goodness for the
Warriors who are in the playoffs and doing very well.

game 4 ~ win
Whoosh, that was exhausting, but the Dubs won last night in Cleveland
and come home for Monday night's game when they will (maybe) clinch.
Then we switched to the Giants who did not fare so well against the
scumsucking blue Dodgers. Our bullpen needs help and fast.

answered prayers
Thanks to Steph, Klay, Coach Kerr and mostly the Blogmaid for updating
our basketball fashion wardrobe. Playoff games are such fun, especially
as we get to know the individuals involved better along the way. And
now we can dress for the occasion ~ go Dubs!

do-or-die game
At half time the Dubs were losing and I told Husbando that we would have
more time now for the Flix® and HBO. We are brand new basketball fans,
hooked after last year's championship season, but still little knowledge of
the game and no tee shirts or caps (yet). Then the amazing 4th quarter and
even we of little understanding of this game, could see how the Warriors
play like a TEAM and how Chokelahoma was befuddled and angry. I
loved when Curry signaled with seven fingers ~ meaning the final playoff
game will be Monday night. Man, the OKC fans must be annoyed and
worried. So sorry.

who knew?
A year ago, if you had told us that we'd be watching BASKETBALL on a
rainy Sunday afternoon, we would quickly and firmly say, "no way!" But
there we were yesterday, watching the Warriors, enthusiastic new fans. The
grace, the teamwork, the joy - these guys are such a pleasure to watch.

what's a Dub?
Husbando and I had never watched basketball EVER until these last two
weeks when the Warriors (Dub = W, I had to google that) got into the
playoffs. Now we are transfixed. Our calendar is marked for every game
and our life revolves around this exhausting game. No wonder team owners
love the playoffs, new fans appear from the most unlikely places. The team
actually plays in Oakland, but SF considers them Ours. We won last night,
the first game of the Finals. Whooooosh.
