Here in front of the fire after a rainy Saturday at home. A good day. I do like living alone, if anyone is wondering. Bright sunshine today and I will get moving soon. I have been thinking about our downtown and whether SHOPPING should be the reason we go there. I think not. Food, music, people ~ yes. In any event, I often have to either defend Amazon or keep my big mouth shut because so many claim to hate this big monopoly. Amazon has changed the world and for me it is a godsend. So there, I just had to say that here. Today.
They call me: stein, msmas, mush, m.a., mary ann, mary lou, mary om, or just plain mary (and you may too)

shallow Sunday thoughts

Amazon dependence
I send small gifts to my friend who lives in an assisted living facility in San Diego. I am not the only one who appreciates the speed and dependability of Amazon. I realize that some folks hate them, but for those of us who lived alone during the Great Pandemic of 2020, Amazon was a god send. The above was the proof of delivery yesterday and my friend was very happy. And, obviously so were many other residents.

product recommendation
I ordered these new wrist braces yesterday morning (from Amazon, of course) and they arrived during TV time last night. Carpal in both wrists ~ I have been wearing night "gloves" forever. But these are the best ever with a cushion in the palm and not too much velcro to snag on everything. It's the little victories...

from a farm in Minnesota
Well, this is a first. I bought my wreath from Amazon this year in an effort to avoid crowds. I am delighted with this ~ it is fresh and beautiful and smells like an evergreen forest.

another new toy
Yesterday Amazon delivered this electronic wonder, the iTeknic milk
frother. Guess who has been missing her afternoon latte? And I plan
to branch out a bit with tea and chai lattes. My kitchen counter is
spacious, thankfully, but getting more interesting lately.

a non-Apple product!
Husbando doesn't DO computers, but he has an iPhone and then he
read about this $50 tablet from Amazon. He likes how I check my
handy iPad every hour or so for the news and we decided to give
this Fire 7 a try. Well, it isn't intuitive like Apple usually is, so I
ordered the book. We are such traditionalists. It is helping because
one can underline and use the bright yellow marker and stick post-
its with question marks on every page. Just another hour or so and
we will both be experts...

praising the enemy

top management for bad decisions there. And yet, I'm a huge fan of
Amazon and after coffee or lunch with Dancing Jen one day, I decided
to become a Prime member too. For $85 a year I get all sorts of freebies,
including shipping and handling and now streaming of movies, just
like Netflix®. I set it up last night on our TV and only had to call the
Amazon help desk once, almost a record, technology-wise.
