my very good Tuesday

 Yesterday I went to the SF Villages for an excellent presentation by the two guys who originated and now organize the famous Human Banners down at Ocean Beach. Brad started this 20 years ago with maybe 150 people who had to lay down in the sand to make an impact. Enter Google Earth and Facebook and now as many as 7,000 people show up. What a huge undertaking. Travis partners with him and they work well together. I came home to sign up for the next event at human banners - SF and I will do my best to show up for democracy, aka Impeach on the Beach. Inspiring!

Village People

 The Bernal Heights (Frights) faction of SF Villages met here yesterday afternoon and the topic was Halloween memories so of course I recounted the horror of managing that Spirit Halloween store back in 2000. Not great photos here but we had a good time and even though we are all seniors we managed to avoid those tedious old age topics and complaints. Boo!

it takes a village

 Yesterday I joined this group of seniors ~ part of a network of 300 Villages across the USA. It began here in the city in 2009 and now they have 650 members. I loved reading this: WE ARE INDEPENDENT AND INTERDEPENDENT. People helping people through volunteer work and lots of activities such as walking groups, virtual tours, etc.  More about this as I become involved ~ next meeting on Tuesday "Making the Most of Your Membership". Oh, the cost? $10 a month.
