miniature baby shower
Heather, on the left, is expecting Elizabeth in September. Remember when she and Lily (on the right) lived in the nabe? Well, they have both moved on with their male partners, but we still stay connected and so yesterday enjoyed yet another tea, but this one was baby-themed. Neighbor Heidi is in the middle there and she and Lily brought cakes, so all I had to do was heat the water and set the table. Thanks to the Blogmaid for the happy baby decor.

laughter and gifts for the mother-to-be. We couldn't use the backyard of
the hostess because of the rain, but that didn't really dampen anyone's
spirits. I used the GPS to find the house in Oakland and what a fabulous
invention that is. I'm good within the confines of our SF, but am directionally
challenged outside of my little world. Lucybelle is loved by so many people
at the museums and we were all able to shower her with some of our
warm feelings yesterday. New girl child will be born in a month...

always room for one more...
Our little home was a happy mix of people, food and laughter yesterday.
Tanya and I have become close friends over the past 3 years because
she lives in the nabe and we would often ride to/fro work. I have to say
that our house never looked better, my agnostic prayers for sunshine
worked. Everyone brought (and ate) tons of food, I missed the dessert
table in the kitchen in these photos, but there were cakes, cookies
and pies. Oh, another table was filled with cheese and SF bread goodies.
Then last night I met some Borders friends downtown ~ I'll review
that lovely evening tomorrow because I have to go to work today.
What? Is this fair?

casa verde turns pink
our dear Tanya's baby bump. This is on my list of Things I Have
Never Done and since I don't attend showers, let alone give them,
it should be interesting. The house has never been cleaner, you
know how that goes...
Oh, it's a pot luck so I don't have too much to do.
Tonight dinner with wonderful friends, lots to report tomorrow.

zebRRa
all her striped glory ~ at the SF Zoo yesterday for Boo Zoo Day
and then back in her own backyard as the only zebra (I bet) in
Pumpkinville. Have fun collecting cavities tonight (like I should
talk here) and yes, you are a beauty with or w/o stripes.
In the meantime, we folks in our everyday costumes, are
preparing for NaNoWriMo which begins tomorrow. Also
poking around and cleaning up the house because in one week
I'm hosting my first ever Baby Shower! See the trouble I can
get into when I don't work full-time? More about this later...
