we celebrate Pride

 Many streets will be closed and SF welcomes thousands of tourists this weekend. I'm pretty sure our city has the biggest celebration anywhere. When I worked at Borders I used to enjoy the Parade on my lunch hour, but today I'll catch it on TV. And glorious sunshine today ~ yay!

pink triangle time

 In the middle photo we can see the triangle (barely) from my back window. There were 600 or so volunteers who installed this Pride symbol under Sutro Tower over the weekend. This is just so impressive and meaningful and, of course, another reason why I love SF so much.

so proud of our Pride Family

 Yesterday was the annual Pride Day in Half Moon Bay and here we see and applaud the Blogmaid Family in all their colorful attire. It was a quieter day here in the City for Annabelle and myself, but we loved all the news and photos from Pumpkinville.

we got us some PRIDE

 Our Giants are the first (and maybe only?) MLB team to wear the LGBTQ rainbow colors this June, National Pride Month. Needless to say, this makes me happy.

a whole lot of Pride

It's too foggy yet to see the pink triangle over on Twin Peaks, but I will
catch it later. Meanwhile the city is festooned (ahem) in rainbows and
tomorrow is the big parade. I used to watch it when I worked at Borders,
but that's been a few years now. "Stay Proud", I say to my gay friends!

pride = proud

I snapped this GREAT photo the other night while we were walking after
seeing Eddie Izzard. The colors move and change, but this mixture
really appealed to me. I'm always extra delighted to live here during
Gay Pride Week. One of my best memories is when then Mayor Gavin
Newsom said, "They shall marry!" Now that took real courage because
we were the first city in America to honor same sex marriages.
