small yard, big tree

Neti lives in Twin Peaks and this old tree has been a worry for some time. On Sunday night it fell and crushed some fences and pissed off one neighbor, but mostly people have been helpful and nice. The problem will be removing it as the little yards are not easy to get into other than through  houses. (We are not the burbs, as you know.) So Neti is busy with arborists, insurance stuff and mending fences. Pun intended.

my busy Sunday

Good thing I had Hermit Saturday because yesterday was full. Trash pick-up on Valencia Street with Emma, coffee and bagel at the Chit Chat Cafe in Pacifica (photo) with the Blogmaid and then dinner over at Neti's. Annabelle was not pleased. But it was a fine day for this human.

The GREAT Highway

The stretch of road along Ocean Beach is closed to traffic on Saturday and Sunday, hoooray. Even though a lot of people were out enjoying the sea air and the gorgeous sunshine, it didn't seem crowded at all because of the open road. Bikes, trikes, skates, strollers, dogs and a gazillion walkers. Neti and I walked and then had dim sum at Shailai Seasfood on Geary Blvd. A very fine Saturday indeed.

outdoors/indoors

Neti and I planned to sit on her back deck yesterday, but it was just too
hot, so we social distanced and had coffee in her living room. All the
gorgeous artwork is by Neti, but you already guessed that.

back to Pat's Grove

Last night we celebrated Neti's birthday over at Pat's condo garden area.
It is somewhat secluded, away from the wind and fog. A fire pit would be
nice, however.

packing and chatting

Tomorrow I go to Atlanta ~ too soon after Ashland I now realize. Annabelle
hasn't signed off on this and she cares not one whit that this blouse was
freshly laundered and ironed and ready to be folded neatly. Neti invited me
for an early dinner and this is the view from her kitchen ~ you can see the
little homes of Twin Peaks through the big tree in her backyard.

three more by Neti

Fanny cat and me - waaaaaaaay back in the day

The Fevered Brain remembers that first Neti painting which now hangs
in our dining room. Despite the tiresome subject matter, I do so love
this piece. We have two others by Neti, both now hanging in our living room.
Neti is simply one of our very favorite artists - sort of Matisse-like, no?
