Vive La Tarte
We DO bakeries here in SF. Someone, somewhere suggested that I try Vive La Tarte on 24th Street and since I needed a reward for trying to be a good woman and running errands yesterday ~ well, I totally enjoyed a latte, croissant and a read in the New Yorker out in the sun/shade as I watched all the dogs and people parade by. Such a treat to live in this crazy city. And, hey, fog this morning. Welcome, Karl.

the Tuesday stroll = urban
Yesterday Ginger and I walked along 24th Street in Noe Valley, stopping at a bookstore and then having our coffee over at the Great Plotniks where I am checking mail, etc. while they visit family in New York. The fog burned off just in time for us to turn our faces to the sun. Lovely.

solid gold camaro
I walked the nabe after cleaning house all day and was rewarded by this
on 24th Street. Cars are still a big deal in the Latino community, but
this one wasn't part of a car parade ~ just parked quietly, waiting for
me to wander by and take a few photos for my blog. Rewarded.

We know Noe Valley
My gym is in Noe Valley and I hauled ass over there yesterday and then
met a friend for coffee. I didn't know about this new event in the so-called
Town Square but I will return for (ahem) fun and games. Small town,
big city, good vibes.

my changing city

I needed to walk 24th Street yesterday to see what's happening ~ this
district of SF is hot currently: new restaurants, stores and art. I met the artist
Anthony at the New Year's Eve party so we chatted for a few moments.
I stopped for a latte at Temo's and read my New Yorker while doing
the always important people-watching. Invigorating walk, no rain.

g.dot likes the spices
We took Ceci to Holy Kitchen on 24th Street last night and I forgot
my iPhone (horrors!) so I didn't get a photo of her or any of the
dishes. (The above is a stock photo.) We did have chicken, lamb and
Plottie has taught us about the gobi (cauliflower and potatoes) so
we enjoyed that too. They were busier than usual and for that we
are thankful as the restaurant business is not easy.

are moving out quickly from the SPCA, so all is right with the world. I
work these next three days in a row, but I'm OK because the annual Tiapos
xmas party is Thursday night. Lots of ho, ho, ho there!

day of the dead
Yesterday I walked home from a great (!) writing class and happened
upon this wonderful street scene. Last night was the annual Day of the
Dead walk and this is a craft table and face painting stand at 24th
and Bryant Street. The last photo is outstanding, no?

24th Street in Noe Valley. A little cardio and a few other machines ~ best of
all, the customers were not young and beautiful, they were older but in
good shape. And no "lifetime" membership, it's month-by-month.
I did a little computer work (ahem) for Neti and she took me to lunch here
at Noeteca on 28th and Dolores. Quite nice indeed, and I'll be back.
Finished Benediction (wonderful) and started The Orphan Master's Son
in between TV watching of the Boston chase of Suspect #2. I had such a
fine three days off and accomplished almost everything on the ToDo List.
Back to the deYoung today, off tomorrow, thank goodness.
